Your choice

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honoured automatically. If your browser sends either, analytics is off and nothing here needs changing. Your choice is kept in this browser only, so it does not follow you to another device. Clearing site data resets it to on.

What we count

These 17 events are the whole list. Anything else is dropped before it leaves your device. Every value is a fixed choice or yes or no, never text you typed.

• session_startA visit began: how you arrived (digest, search engine, share, direct) and whether you are new or returning, as a rough bucket.
• page_viewA public page was viewed, recorded as a pattern such as /apps/[slug], never the address you typed or the slug.
• review_startedSomeone began writing a review. Nothing about its content.
• review_submittedA review was posted, with only a length bucket (short, medium, long).
• standing_info_openedThe Standing explainer was opened, and from which kind of page.
• maker_reply_startedA maker began a reply. Nothing about its content.
• maker_reply_submittedA maker reply was posted, and whether it named a fix.
• search_submittedA search was run: which tab and a result-count bucket (0, 1 to 3, 4 or more). Never the words you searched.
• app_try_it_clickedTry it was pressed, and from which kind of page. Not which app.
• save_toggledAn app was saved or unsaved, and from which kind of page. Not which app.
• filter_appliedA filter or sort was used, as a category such as sort or tag. Not its value.
• interview_openedAn interview was opened, with its format and the kind of page it came from.
• interview_finishedAn interview was read or played to the end, with its format.
• digest_join_submittedThe digest sign-up form was submitted, and where it was. Never the email address.
• digest_confirmedA digest sign-up was confirmed, and where it began.
• feedback_openedThe feedback sheet was opened, and from where.
• feedback_submittedFeedback was sent, with a category (bug, idea, other). Never the message.

What we never collect

• Cookies or any identifier stored in your browser for analytics.
• Who you are: no name, email address, account or user id.
• Your IP address (it is discarded).
• Review text, reply text, search words, feedback messages or any other free text.
• Full addresses, app or person slugs, query strings or fragments.
• Clicks, scrolling, keystrokes, session recordings, heatmaps or surveys.
• Anything from private areas: admin, your apps, settings, notifications, saved, sign-in, digest links, interview forms or seeker profiles.

Analytics runs through PostHog and only when it is configured. Makers never see this data; their own numbers are separate, first-party and aggregate. The full wording is in the Privacy policy. To download or delete your data, go to Account and data in Settings.
